Navi Mumbai: Residents of Simplex Society in Navi Mumbai Aggressive Against Bullying in Redevelopment
Residents of Simplex Society in Sector 7, Ghansoli, Navi Mumbai, have raised their voices against bullying, pressure, and fraud under the guise of redevelopment. Although the buildings in the society have been declared dangerous, it is alleged that the residents are not receiving justice.
Approximately 800 families live in the society. Many residents have not received rent for the past 8 to 9 months. It has also been reported by residents that some houses have been forcibly vacated. As a result, many families are facing financial difficulties.
IIT Kharagpur and VJTI Mumbai have reported that these buildings are unfit for habitation. Additionally, PWD, the Konkan Commissioner, and the city engineer have also acknowledged that the buildings are dangerous. However, residents have alleged that no concrete action is being taken by the Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation. At this time, residents have clarified that they are not opposed to development but to unjust redevelopment.
