( Mumbai ) In the backdrop of Diwali, the police have banned the flying and selling of drones and flying lanterns in the jurisdiction of the Brihanmumbai Police Commissionerate. It is reported that action will be taken against those violating this order under Section 223 of the Indian Penal Code.

This decision has been made to ensure the safety of citizens and to maintain law and order in the jurisdiction of the Brihanmumbai Police Commissionerate, banning the flying and selling of drones and flying lanterns.

Additionally, there will be no permission to sell flying lanterns. It is reported that there will be a ban on flying lanterns in the operational area of the Brihanmumbai Police Commissionerate from October 12 to November 10, 2025.
