Transport Minister Pratap Sarnaik organized a press conference. During this, the white paper of the ST Corporation was released.

The long-awaited white paper of the Maharashtra State Road Transport (ST) Corporation was officially released today. Transport Minister Pratap Sarnaik held a press conference to present the report and discuss the current status and historical performance of the state transport body.

Addressing the media, Minister Sarnaik revealed that the ST Corporation has registered profits in only 8 out of the last 45 years. He pointed out that this alarming trend highlights the persistent financial distress the corporation has faced over several decades. "The primary reason for these consistent losses is the shortage of buses," Sarnaik stated, adding that this shortfall has directly impacted service delivery and revenue generation.

The white paper outlines key challenges faced by the ST Corporation, including operational inefficiencies, aging infrastructure, and resource constraints. It also serves as a policy document aimed at initiating reforms and addressing the long-standing issues plaguing the public transport system. The minister assured that the government is committed to strengthening the ST Corporation and will soon introduce measures to modernize its operations and improve public transport services across Maharashtra.
