Citing a significant decline in school enrollment over the past ten years, it is likely that six schools under the municipal corporation will be privatized, and the municipality is preparing to hand over the space to a management organization for 30 years.

In ten years, 90,000 students have left school, and information has been received that 152 municipal schools have closed. These include the girls' school in Malad, Mahim BMC School, Malad Dhanjiwadi School, MHB Urdu School in Malad, Vakola BMC School, and Thakur Village BMC School.

The daily management and operation of schools on municipal-owned land will remain with private institutions, and tenders have been issued in this regard.
