To directly convey information about potholes on the roads of Pune city to the municipality, Pune Municipal Corporation has developed a mobile app called 'PMC Road Mitra'. Through this app, citizens can send photos and videos of potholes on the roads, and the municipal administration will take immediate action on them.

The number of potholes and incomplete repairs are causing trouble for drivers. Despite repeatedly complaining to the municipal corporation's road department, there is no response. To curb such complaints, this app has been developed. Through the 'PMC Road Mitra' app, citizens can upload two to three photos or videos. Since the GPS location (latitude-longitude) is included in the photo, the location of the pothole will be accurately identified. This information will be automatically sent to the relevant department of the municipal corporation. Once recorded, a junior engineer will visit the site to fill the pothole and attach photos of the work done to the complaint. This will clearly show the complainant the situation before and after.

With the use of this app, department heads will be able to take a detailed review of complaints from across the city, the actions taken on them, and which officials took responsibility or neglected them. Currently, this app will be available on the Play Store for Android phones. This app will prove useful as an effective option for Pune residents to directly file complaints about potholes on the roads.
