Following the Supreme Court's order, the process of local self-government elections, which had been stalled for the past three years, has accelerated. Accordingly, for the Pune Municipal Corporation elections, Commissioner Naval Kishore Ram announced the draft ward structure on Friday (22nd). In this, 41 wards have been determined, and the number of councilors will be 165. A four-member ward structure has been maintained in most places, and ward number 38 will have five members. Citizens have been given a deadline until September 3, 2025, to register objections and suggestions.

The administration has started planning polling stations, appointing officers, and organizing the necessary manpower for the election. A committee was established under the chairmanship of the commissioner to prepare a draft plan for the ward structure. This committee included town planners, computer experts, and relevant officials.

This structure has been created based on the 2011 census, and like in 2017, a four-member ward has been maintained this time as well. Elections were delayed after the term of the Pune Municipal Corporation ended in 2022. Now, after the new ward structure, the election will be held in 2025.
