Pune Weather: Major change in Pune's weather; Temperature rise due to end of cold, impact on daily life
In Pune city, a significant increase in minimum temperature has been recorded in the last 24 hours, and the chill has completely dissipated. According to the records of the India Meteorological Department (IMD), on Wednesday, the minimum temperature in the city was 17.1 degrees Celsius and the maximum temperature was 32.7 degrees Celsius. Although the sky remained mostly clear, sparse fog was observed in the morning and cloudy conditions in the evening, causing discomfort due to the heat in the afternoon.
The weather department has predicted that there will be no significant change in the weather for the next three to four days. On Thursday (February 19), the minimum temperature may drop to 16 degrees Celsius, while the maximum temperature will reach 33 degrees. From Friday (February 20), there will be a slight increase in both temperatures, with a maximum of 35 degrees and a minimum of 18 degrees Celsius expected. The sky will remain clear with a possibility of light fog in the morning, giving Pune residents a hint of summer.
Dr. S. D. Sanap, a scientist from the IMD Pune division, stated that due to the humid winds coming from the south, a cloudy atmosphere has formed at night, trapping the ground heat in the air. This has resulted in a 2-degree increase in the minimum temperature compared to the average. In the past few days, due to the influence of the Western Disturbance, a sudden chill was felt on Tuesday, which is now subsiding. Although there is a possibility of rain in Pakistan and northwestern India, dry weather will persist in Pune.
Due to these fluctuations, health experts have advised citizens to drink enough water, eat light meals, and go out in the morning and evening. The early signs of summer in February have increased unease among farmers and urban residents.
