(Raj Thackeray) Controversial statement by Union Minister Jitendra Singh that it is good that 'Mumbai' is not in the name of IIT. Many reactions are now coming from the political circles on this. Against this backdrop, Raj Thackeray has now responded. Raj Thackeray said, 'While speaking at an IIT event in Mumbai, Union Minister of Science and Technology Dr. Jitendra Singh said, “It is good that the name Bombay in IIT was kept as it is and not changed to Mumbai.” Jitendra Singh’s statement clearly reflects the mindset of the government. And what is this mindset? Mumbai, which belonged to the Marathi people, was attempted to be separated from Maharashtra, but Marathi leaders and the public thwarted that plan. And our Marathi Mumbai remained in Maharashtra. The nausea that had been building up in their stomachs for decades has once again started to be spewed out.'

'Actually, Jitendra Singh has no connection with Mumbai, nor with Maharashtra, nor with Gujarat. He comes from Jammu.. but his only aim is to understand what is going on in the minds of our top leadership, speak accordingly, and earn praise. On this occasion, I appeal not just to Mumbai but to all Marathi people living in the MMR region to open your eyes at least now. They dislike the name 'Mumbai' because it is derived from the name of our Mumba Devi, the original goddess of Mumbai. All the children of that goddess are the Marathi people who have lived here for generations. You and your city are being targeted.'

Along with this, he further said, 'Today the central government tried to take Chandigarh city out of Punjab's hands. They withdrew because of opposition from all parties, but that is a temporary withdrawal. A similar plan must be 100% brewing in the case of Mumbai. The push for 'Bombay' instead of 'Mumbai' is definitely an attempt to quietly take control of this city. First Mumbai and then the entire MMR region is being taken over with the aim of connecting it to Gujarat! So Marathi people, wake up. We are already seeing every day how central agents, industrialists, etc., have started taking control here. At least now Marathi people should understand this,' said Raj Thackeray.
