(Mumbai Konkan Ro-Ro Ferry) A quick travel option to Konkan will soon be available for Mumbaikars. The preparation to start the Ro-Ro service from Bhaucha Dhakka in Mumbai to Jaigad in Ratnagiri and further to Vijaydurg in Sindhudurg is in its final stage, and it is expected to be inaugurated in October. Officials have informed that the 147 necessary permissions for this project have been obtained.

This service will transport both passengers and vehicles. The ship's capacity will be 656 passengers, 50 four-wheelers, and 30 two-wheelers. It is considered the fastest service in South Asia, with a speed of up to 25 knots. As a result, it will be possible to reach Ratnagiri from Mumbai in just 3 to 3.5 hours and Sindhudurg in 5 to 5.5 hours.

Currently, this service will start during the daytime, and in the future, there are plans to provide stops at Shrivardhan and Mangaon as well. During the journey, jetty facilities will be available at Bhaucha Dhakka (Ferry Wharf) in Mumbai, Jaigad (Ratnagiri), and Vijaydurg (Sindhudurg). A bus service will also be made available for passengers 40 kilometers ahead from Vijaydurg.

A fare structure for different classes has been determined for passengers. The fare for First Class is ₹9,000, for Business Class ₹7,500, for Premium Economy ₹4,000, and for Standard Economy ₹2,500.
