Sanjay Raut Responds to Bhai Jagtap’s Statement
In Brief
'Mumbai Municipal Corporation will be contested by Congress independently'
Bhai Jagtap's Call for Self-reliance in Mumbai
Sanjay Raut's Reaction
(Sanjay Raut) Local self-government elections are approaching. All political parties seem to be gearing up for this. In this context, Bhai Jagtap has raised the slogan of self-reliance in Mumbai, which has now sparked considerable discussion. Many reactions are now emerging from political circles regarding the statement made by Congress leader Bhai Jagtap about the local self-government elections.
Congress leader Bhai Jagtap has clarified his stance for the Mumbai municipal elections. Bhai Jagtap had said, "Forget Raj Thackeray, but we will not contest with Uddhav Thackeray either. When I was the president of Mumbai Congress, I had stated this 'loud and clear'. We also conveyed this to Ramesh Chennithala during our political affairs committee meeting. These are local self-government elections. These are elections for the workers, not the leaders." said Bhai Jagtap.
Sanjay Raut has now reacted to this. Sanjay Raut said, "I will not express an opinion on what someone is saying now. The Congress party is our ally in the India Block and the Maha Vikas Aghadi. These two alliances did not come into existence or were not created because of a single party. There are many parties like ours with the Congress. Therefore, the Maha Vikas Aghadi and the India Block were formed. Now, if someone has taken a different stance in the Mumbai Municipal Corporation or local self-government elections, that is their issue, but we will not make any statements or take a stance that would put our allies or colleagues in trouble."
"Raj Thackeray is the leader of MNS. He has an independent party. If someone is taking this stance because of him, then that is their issue. We want to defeat the Bharatiya Janata Party. The Samyukta Maharashtra Committee was established for Mumbai. Even then, all parties came together. It is very important for Congress leaders to understand this history. The fight for Mumbai was the fight for Samyukta Maharashtra. All parties came together, forgetting all differences. Now, is Raj Thackeray in Bihar? Congress and Tejashwi Yadav are clashing and contesting different elections."
Along with this, he further said, "There is no Raj Thackeray in Bihar. Is there Uddhav Thackeray or Raj Thackeray there? We don't want this or that. Okay, these are statements for a day's publicity. Mumbai should remain in the hands of the Marathi people. Therefore, the Marathi leadership of the Congress party should seriously consider the upcoming crisis on Mumbai. If we have to say something, we will talk to Rahul Gandhi. We will talk to Mallikarjun Kharge, Venugopal, Ramesh Chennithala. This fight is to save democracy, and the Congress should understand this." said Sanjay Raut.
