Sanjay Raut has written a letter to Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis. In this letter, Sanjay Raut has stated that 'New cases of corruption and MLA misconduct are emerging daily in Maharashtra. There is a kind of chaos regarding corruption in the state, and administrators and officials in municipal corporations are colluding to loot the government treasury. The case in Ahilyanagar Municipal Corporation is shocking. Corrupt officials and contractors' gang in Ahilyanagar Municipal Corporation, under the patronage of Mahayuti government MLA Sangram Jagtap, have conspired and committed corruption by embezzling more than Rs 350 to 400 crore in the period from 2016 to 2020 for approximately 776 roads. This is the biggest scam in Ahilyanagar to date, and since the involved people are supporting the government, this scam is being suppressed.'

'This scam has been exposed with evidence by Kiran Kale, the city chief of the Ahilyanagar Shiv Sena Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray party. While the Mahayuti government was in power in the state, on May 8, 2023, he made the first complaint to the Commissioner of Ahilyanagar Municipal Corporation, the District Police Superintendent, and the Revenue Minister of his own government, who is also the Guardian Minister of Ahilyanagar, Radhakrishna Vikhe Patil. Subsequently, he has repeatedly followed up in writing with the Urban Development Department, Home Department, and the Government Polytechnic, Ahilyanagar, which is under the Higher and Technical Education Department, for the quality certificates previously required and provided for the payment of bills for the works of this municipal corporation.'

'Based on Kale's complaint and the protest carried out, the Government Polytechnic, Ahilyanagar formed a five-member committee on 16/06/2023. Upon thorough examination of all available documents and evidence, it was found that hundreds of contractors, who are workers of our grand alliance's MLAs, conspired with political backing to embezzle bills worth hundreds of crores for approximately 776 road works. They did this by colluding with the municipal corporation's commissioner, additional commissioner, deputy commissioner, city engineer of the municipal public works department, other engineers, employees of this department, and some corrupt people from the Government Polytechnic, Ahilyanagar. They used fake letterheads, fake stamps, fake stamps of gazetted officers' names, and forged signatures to commit this massive scam under the name of the Government Polytechnic, a government institution.'

'In this scam, there is the backing of the current MLAs of the grand alliance, including the then mayor in the Shinde group that supports us today, the mayor from the Nationalist Congress Party of Ajit Pawar, and the mayor, corporators, and office bearers of the Bharatiya Janata Party. The benefits of this major scam have been colluded and embezzled by corrupt leaders and officials.

In the city of Ahilyanagar, ordinary citizens have been deprived of basic services like roads due to a corrupt system. This is a robbery inflicted on the public treasury. Notably, a complaint was filed with the state's Anti-Corruption Department's Hon. Additional Director General of Police on November 28, 2023, regarding this matter. However, the Anti-Corruption Department has not filed any charges against the corrupt individuals, seemingly to protect them under political pressure.
In addition to these four years, there is a strong possibility that a scam of approximately 200 to 300 crore rupees occurred during the period from 2020 to 2023 through similar modes of operation. Despite complaints, no investigation has been conducted, seemingly with the intent to suppress corruption deliberately.

'The citizens of Ahilyanagar city are overwhelmed by road problems. If the government cannot even provide them with roads, what is the use of such power? Considering the extent of the crime, the number of accused in this case is extremely large. Those who engage in corruption under the patronage of a government that loots the people should be imprisoned.
For the broader interest of the people of Ahilyanagar, we should take note of this corruption and immediately file serious criminal cases against all the guilty based on the available inquiry report, arrest them promptly, and send them to prison,' said Sanjay Raut.
