Nashik: Second container of trees from Andhra Pradesh's Rajahmundry arrives in Nashik; 15,000 trees to be planted

(Nashik) There is strong opposition from environmentalists to the proposed deforestation in the Tapovan area of Nashik, as there is a plan to build a Sadhugram in Tapovan for the preparations of the Simhastha Kumbh Mela. Nearly 1800 trees in Tapovan will have to be cut down for this Sadhugram. Environmentalists oppose this deforestation.
Against this backdrop, there is opposition to the proposed tree cutting in Tapovan, while on the other hand, trees have been ordered from Rajahmundry in Hyderabad. Against this backdrop, 15,000 trees dispatched from Rajahmundry have started arriving in Nashik, with the first phase's large container arriving at the city's border yesterday. Girish Mahajan personally selected 15,000 native trees in Rajahmundry. These trees will be planted in different parts of the city.
Banyan, Peepal, Neem, Jamun will be planted, and initially, 15,000 trees will be planted. After that, a decision will be made regarding the trees in the Tapovan area. Against this backdrop, the second container of trees from Rajahmundry, Andhra Pradesh, has arrived in Nashik, and it is reported that there are another 350 trees in the second container. The work of unloading trees in the Makhmalabad area has started, and about 15,000 trees will be planted in Nashik on Monday. Meanwhile, an interim stay has been granted on the felling of trees in Tapovan until January 15.
