Ashadhi Ekadashi 2025 : ST Corporation to provide special bus for Ashadhi Ekadashi; Know more
In preparation for the upcoming Ashadhi Ekadashi celebrations in 2025, the Maharashtra State Transport (ST) Corporation has announced the deployment of over 5,200 special buses to facilitate the travel of devotees to Pandharpur. This initiative aims to ensure a smooth and comfortable journey for the lakhs of pilgrims who arrive annually to participate in the revered Wari procession.
Transport Minister Pratap Sarnaik shared this information during a press conference, stating that special buses will be operated from various depots across the state to manage the anticipated rush. Temporary bus stands have also been established in key locations within Pandharpur, including Chandrabhaga, Bhima, Pandurang (ITI College), and Vitthal Karkhana, to streamline operations and reduce crowding.
To further support the Warkaris, arrangements have been made to run direct buses from villages where the number of pilgrims exceeds 40. Dedicated drivers and conductors have been appointed for these special services, and full provisions for their food, accommodation, and refreshments have been put in place.
Additionally, return travel services will be available on July 7 for devotees wishing to head back home after the festivities. In a notable gesture, Minister Sarnaik has personally funded the accommodation and meals for approximately 20,000 drivers and conductors at the ST depot, ensuring their well-being during the intense operational period. With these comprehensive preparations, the ST Corporation aims to make this year’s Ashadhi Wari not only spiritually fulfilling for the devotees of Lord Vitthal but also safe and well-organized.
