Pune : Students Paid Big Amount for Examination Paper at Reputed College; Police Take Action
A paper leakage and academic fraud case has surfaced at a reputed engineering college in Wagholi, Pune, where students were allegedly paying ₹10,000 to ₹15,000 to rewrite examination papers after official hours. Police have taken swift action, detaining a professor allegedly at the center of the operation.
According to reports, the professor was secretly providing exam papers to selected students after the scheduled examination, allowing them to rewrite their answers at night. The scheme targeted students who feared they would fail; they would deliberately leave answers blank during the exam and then complete the same paper later under the professor's supervision.
The operation is believed to have been running for several days before it came under the scanner. Acting on a tip-off, the crime branch team conducted a raid on Monday night and detained the professor involved. A significant number of answer sheets and related documents were also seized during the operation.
Authorities are continuing their investigation to identify all students and staff involved in the malpractice. The incident has raised serious concerns about academic integrity, and the college administration is reportedly cooperating fully with law enforcement.
