In Brief
Supriya Sule's letter to Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis
'Some people from Tuljapur city were admitted to the Bharatiya Janata Party yesterday'
'Seeing that drug trafficking is getting royal patronage, it is equally concerning'
(Supriya Sule) Supriya Sule has written a letter to Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis. In this letter, Supriya Sule said, 'Some people from Tuljapur city were inducted into the Bharatiya Janata Party yesterday. It was reported that this included accused individuals from the city's drug trafficking case. Notably, these inductions took place at the BJP party office in the presence of responsible leaders, which was surprisingly disappointing. Additionally, it was equally concerning to see that drug trafficking is receiving political patronage. In a democratic system, every political party has the right to expand its organization, and there is no reason to disagree with that. However, at the same time, there is a moral responsibility on everyone active in public life not to give shelter to any harmful, anti-social tendencies, and I believe you would agree with this.'
'You are the head of the state, and you have many responsibilities. Therefore, this news might not have reached you, or you might not have been informed about this person's background in drug-related crimes. Assuming this, I am writing this letter to you. Keeping the public interest in mind, we are all with you in the fight against drugs. I had informed you about this earlier through a letter.'
'We expect you to take this matter in Tuljapur seriously and take appropriate action against those involved. It is crucial for a positive message to be conveyed in society that drug trafficking will not be given royal patronage in Maharashtra, and to strengthen the anti-drug campaign. We hope you will certainly take appropriate notice of this.' said Supriya Sule
