This year, Maharashtra has once again maintained its dominance in the list of clean cities in the country. Maharashtra has received 10 awards in the cleanliness survey. Various municipal corporations and councils in Maharashtra have performed excellently in the 'Cleanliness Survey 2024-25' conducted by the Ministry of Urban Development of the central government.

Indore city won in the new category 'Super Clean League' started for the first time this year, while Ahmedabad was awarded the title of 'Cleanest City in the Country' among cities with a population of over 10 lakh.

Every year, cities, municipal corporations, and municipal councils across the country are surveyed for cleanliness assessment. Successful cities in this year's survey were awarded by President Droupadi Murmu. Mira-Bhayander Municipal Corporation in Maharashtra secured the first rank as the 'Cleanest City' in the category of cities with a population of three to ten lakhs. Additionally, Karad city in Satara district achieved the second rank among cities with a population of 50 thousand to three lakhs. Furthermore, Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation was the only city from Maharashtra to secure a place in the list of 'Emerging Clean Cities'.

The cities in Maharashtra honored in the cleanliness survey included Navi Mumbai, Pimpri Chinchwad, Mira-Bhayander, Vita, Saswad, Deolali Pravara, Panchgani, and Panhala. Along with Maharashtra, the cities of Panaji and Sakhali in Goa were also awarded. This success in the field of cleanliness highlights the urban cleanliness management, public participation, and administrative efficiency in Maharashtra.
