Tuljabhavani temple in Tuljapur will be closed for darshan from August 1st to August 10th
Restoration work of the inner sanctum at Tuljabhavani Temple is starting from August 1, and for this, the temple administration has decided not to allow devotees entry into the main inner sanctum. From August 1 to 10, devotees will only be permitted to have face darshan of the deity.
This ancient temple in Tuljapur is dedicated to Goddess Tulja Bhavani, who is known as the presiding deity of Maharashtra. Thousands of devotees visit daily for the goddess's darshan. Discussions regarding the structure and preservation of the temple's sanctum have been ongoing for some time. Finally, after receiving the necessary approval from the archaeological department, the restoration process is being initiated.
During these works, all religious rituals, abhisheks, and other ceremonies in the temple will continue as usual, but darshan in the sanctum has been temporarily halted. The administration has clarified that the face darshan of the goddess will continue to ensure devotees are not inconvenienced.
The goal is to complete the work inside the sanctum within ten days, after which devotees will be able to visit the sanctum for darshan as before. This information has been provided by the temple administration.
