Ramdas Athawale has expressed his displeasure over the injustice being done in the Mahayuti.
Union Minister Ramdas Athawale has voiced strong dissatisfaction with the treatment of his party, the Republican Party of India (RPI), within the Mahayuti alliance. He has alleged that while he holds a ministerial position, the party's grassroots workers are being neglected. Speaking to the media, Athawale said, “There is injustice being done to us in the Mahayuti. I am the only one who has been given a ministerial post, but our workers are not getting any benefits or positions.”
Athawale, who serves as Union Minister of State, also drew a comparison with the party’s earlier alliances. He pointed out that during the Sharad Pawar-led NCP and Congress alliance, RPI had more political influence. “Back then, we had 3–4 ministers, 7–8 seats in the Legislative Council, and even held the post of Mayor of Mumbai,” he said.
The RPI leader expressed his frustration at the current power-sharing dynamics within the Mahayuti coalition, highlighting that the party is being sidelined and its contribution not being recognized. “In the Mahayuti, RPI is not getting power, and our workers are not receiving any positions. This is unfair,” Athawale asserted. His remarks come amid increasing friction within the ruling alliance in Maharashtra, and are expected to stir political debate ahead of upcoming elections.
