Unseasonal storms and heavy rainfall have once again struck parts of Marathwada, causing significant distress to farmers and widespread concern among residents. As temperatures soar across Maharashtra, the sudden shift in weather has taken citizens by surprise.

Several districts, including Hingoli, Beed, Latur, and Nanded, experienced late-night showers accompanied by stormy winds and lightning, triggering panic in many areas. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) had predicted gusty winds and isolated thunderstorms in South Konkan-Goa and Marathwada, with wind speeds reaching 30–40 kmph.

The unseasonal rain has raised the risk of extensive damage to standing crops, particularly in areas already vulnerable due to changing weather patterns. In Hingoli district, heavy rainfall began with intense lightning, alarming residents and damaging crops ready for harvest.

Farmers across the region have reported losses and are concerned about further weather-related disruptions. With forecasts suggesting more isolated showers and thunderstorms in the coming days, authorities have urged both citizens and agricultural communities to remain alert and take precautionary measures.

The unseasonal rainfall continues to highlight the challenges posed by climate variability, especially for farming-dependent regions like Marathwada.
