Vaishnavi Hagawane Case: Nilesh Chavan Remanded in Police Custody Till June 3
In a key development in the Vaishnavi Hagawane case, Nilesh Chavan, who had been absconding for the past ten days, was arrested near the Nepal border and has now been remanded in police custody until June 3.
Chavan was apprehended by authorities at the Nepal border and was brought to Pune Airport at 2:30 AM on Saturday by the Pimpri Chinchwad Police via a special flight. Upon arrival, he was taken for a medical examination and then handed over to the Bavdhan Police Station at 4:00 AM.
Later in the morning, Chavan was produced before the Shivajinagar Court in Pune at 10:00 AM. Following the hearing, the court ordered police custody for Chavan until June 3, allowing investigators more time for interrogation and evidence gathering in connection with the high-profile case.
