(Sidramppa Patil Passed Away) Senior BJP leader from Akkalkot and former MLA of Akkalkot constituency, Sidramppa Malkappa Patil, passed away on Thursday night. He breathed his last at the age of 88 in a private hospital in Solapur. He was admitted for treatment due to a minor illness, but his life ended during the treatment. Sidramppa Patil was known as an influential, experienced, and inclusive leader in the Akkalkot taluka.
In their public life spanning more than four decades, they made significant contributions to cooperation, agriculture, rural development, and local self-government institutions. They began their work as the village sarpanch and went on to serve as the chairman of the Panchayat Samiti, vice president of the Zilla Parishad, director and vice president of the Solapur District Bank for 35 consecutive years, and also as the president of the Shri Swami Samarth Cooperative Sugar Factory, among many other responsibilities they managed competently.
Later, he was elected as the MLA of Akkalkot and gained recognition as a senior leader of the BJP. His demise has spread mourning in the political, social, and cooperative sectors across Akkalkot taluka and the entire Solapur district. Many people's representatives and cooperative institution officials have expressed grief over his passing. His funeral will be held at his native village Kumthe at three o'clock on Friday afternoon. His departure has created a significant void in the political sphere of Akkalkot.
