Police investigations have also revealed that this woman took money from many people under the guise of religious and social causes. The inclusion of the name of Hingoli MP Nagesh Patil Ashtikar from the Thackeray group in the list of financial transactions in this case has caused a major stir in political circles. The MP himself has come forward to give an explanation regarding this matter.

MP Ashtikar said that he had met Kalpana Bhagwat a few times. She introduced herself as “a disciple of Ramabhadracharya Maharaj” and was asking for donations for the temple. That is why he initially gave 20 thousand rupees. Later, she also asked for financial help citing illness and accidents, and he said that some amount was given from a humanitarian perspective. He clarified that he had sent the last amount on October 29. The police investigation is currently underway, and there is a possibility that more people's dealings and contacts may come to light in this case. It is being investigated how Kalpana Bhagwat used a fake identity to set up this racket and what exactly her foreign contacts were for.
