Rohit Pawar Reacted On Thackeray Brothers Rally Against Hindi Language Compulsion
Political momentum is building ahead of the Maharashtra Navnirman Sena’s (MNS) planned protest march against the imposition of Hindi in schools, scheduled for July 5 in Mumbai. MNS chief Raj Thackeray announced the march at a press conference, asserting his party’s strong opposition to making Hindi language compulsory in the state’s educational institutions.
In a significant development, Shiv Sena (Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray) leader Sanjay Raut tweeted a symbolic photograph of Uddhav Thackeray and Raj Thackeray standing together. Accompanying the image was a powerful message:
“A single and united front will be launched against the imposition of Hindi in schools in Maharashtra!”
Raut also confirmed that Shiv Sena (UBT) would participate in the MNS-led rally, indicating a rare moment of unity between the Thackeray cousins in defense of the Marathi language and identity.
Joining the conversation, NCP (Sharad Pawar faction) MLA Rohit Pawar expressed support for the growing Marathi solidarity. In a tweet responding to the Thackeray brothers' apparent alliance, he stated:
“If both the brothers are coming together for Marathi, it will be a proud and joyful moment for every Marathi heart. There is no doubt that when Marathi people unite for their identity, those betraying Maharashtra will not go unchallenged. The government will have no option but to bow before the power of the people’s march.”
Pawar’s statement added a sharp political edge to the issue, indirectly targeting those perceived to be pushing Hindi dominance at the cost of regional language and identity.
With major political forces such as MNS, Shiv Sena (UBT), and NCP voicing strong opposition to the compulsory use of Hindi in Maharashtra schools, the July 5 rally is expected to draw widespread attention and participation. The march is being framed as a defense of Marathi pride and constitutional linguistic rights.
