Sudhakar Badgujar Likely to Join BJP Today
Political developments in Maharashtra are heating up as Sudhakar Badgujar, the former deputy leader of the Shiv Sena (Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray faction), is reportedly set to join the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) today.
Badgujar recently met Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis in Nashik, a move that had already triggered intense speculation in state political circles. Following this meeting, the Shiv Sena (UBT) expelled Badgujar from the party, citing his alleged anti-party statements as the reason for the disciplinary action.
Amid this backdrop, sources suggest that Badgujar will formally enter the BJP fold later today. Adding to the significance of this political shift, Ganesh Geete—who had contested the Assembly elections under the banner of the Nationalist Congress Party (Sharadchandra Pawar faction)—is also likely to join the BJP alongside Badgujar.
Despite reported objections from some local BJP functionaries, both Badgujar and Geete are expected to be welcomed into the party. Sources indicate that Badgujar may also organize a symbolic show of strength during his induction, aiming to consolidate his position within the new political camp.
