Mumbai | On the occasion of the birth centenary year of the Hindu Heart Emperor, a special postage stamp should be issued in his memory, demanded the National General Secretary of Shiv Sena and former MP to the central government. In this regard, they have submitted a written statement to the Union Minister of Communications, and it is understood that the central government has taken a positive stance on this demand.
In the statement, Rahul Shewale has made a detailed mention of the social, cultural, and political contributions of Hinduhridayasamrat Balasaheb Thackeray. From the 1960s for the next five decades, Balasaheb Thackeray left an indelible mark on the political life of the entire country, including Maharashtra. As a candid pro-Hindutva leader, a great cartoonist, an influential editor, and a speaker who mesmerized audiences, he fearlessly expressed his thoughts in various roles, Shewale noted.
The sharpness of Balasaheb Thackeray's writing, the style of his fiery speeches, and the straightforward content expressed through his cartoons instilled pride, confidence, and a fighting spirit in the minds of common people. It is also mentioned in the statement that his thoughts provided direction not only to Maharashtra but to millions of citizens across the country.
Meanwhile, on January 27, the 100th birth anniversary of Balasaheb Thackeray was celebrated with great enthusiasm across the country. On the occasion of the centenary year, millions of Shiv Sainiks and supporters across the country are expressing their desire to pay tribute to him in a unique way. Considering this sentiment, Rahul Shewale has strongly demanded that the central government issue a special postage stamp to appropriately honor the revered Shiv Sena chief.
“For millions of Shiv Sainiks like me, the Hindu Heart Emperor, the late Shiv Sena chief Balasaheb Thackeray has always been a source of inspiration. His forthright thoughts gave confidence to the common man. On the occasion of his birth centenary year, I have requested the Union Minister of Communications to issue a special postage stamp as a unique tribute to him. The central government is positive about this, and I am confident that such a special postage stamp will soon be issued by the Indian Postal Department.” — Rahul Ramesh Shewale, former Shiv Sena MP
