19 Kanwariyas Dead in bus-truck Accident in Jharkhand
A severe accident occurred in Deoghar district of Jharkhand early Tuesday morning, resulting in the immediate death of 19 Kawad pilgrims, while many devotees were seriously injured. The incident took place near Jamunia forest in the jurisdiction of Mohanpur police station on the Godda-Deoghar National Highway.
According to the information received, a truck filled with gas cylinders collided head-on with a private bus carrying Kawad pilgrims. After the collision, the bus was literally shattered. The injured were immediately shifted to the district hospital in Deoghar and other health centers, and it is reported that some are in critical condition.
According to the preliminary information provided by Dumka Division's Police Inspector General Shailendra Kumar Sinha, the accident occurred due to a severe collision between the truck and the bus. Police and emergency services promptly conducted rescue operations at the accident site.
Meanwhile, the month of Shravan is currently ongoing, and millions of devotees come to Baba Baidyanath Dham with the Kanwar Yatra. On Monday, around 3 lakh devotees had visited Deoghar. As a result, there is a large crowd on the roads. This incident has spread mourning across the state, and the administration has ordered a high-level inquiry. There is a possibility of announcing financial assistance to the families of the deceased. The district administration has been alerted, and additional arrangements have been deployed for traffic control.
