In a shocking incident during heavy rainfall, a gang of 5 to 6 thieves attacked a farmer with a sickle in More Vasti, Kedgaon, Daund taluka of Pune district. The incident took place late at night, leaving the farmer seriously injured.

The victim, 60-year-old Popat More, was sleeping outside his house when the assailants struck. Without warning, they attacked him with a sickle, inflicting serious head injuries. The gang also threatened his brother, Balasaheb More, by holding a knife to his throat. However, the thieves fled the scene after the family raised an alarm.

In a related string of incidents in the same locality, the house of Ashok Deshmukh in Deshmukh Vasti was broken into, and two tolas of gold were reportedly stolen. Additionally, the bungalow of Navnath Deshmukh in nearby Kakade Vasti was found locked from the outside, suggesting another attempted break-in.

Popat More is currently receiving medical treatment at a hospital in Kedgaon, where his condition is reported to be stable.

Local police are investigating the incidents and have stepped up patrols in the area as the search for the culprits continues.
