Air India Plane Crash: Passenger Miraculously Survives Devastating Tragedy in Ahmedabad

A passenger sitting in seat 11A of the Air India plane that crashed in Ahmedabad has been found alive.

In what is being described as one of the deadliest aviation disasters in recent times, Air India’s Dreamliner 789 aircraft crashed in Ahmedabad earlier today, claiming the lives of at least 204 people. Yet, amidst the devastation, a miracle has emerged—one passenger has survived the fiery wreckage.

254 Onboard; All Feared Dead Except One

The ill-fated flight was carrying 242 passengers and 12 crew members when it crashed near the resident doctors’ hostel of BJ Medical College, turning the crash site into a scene of overwhelming destruction. According to authorities, the intensity of the explosion was so severe that all recovered bodies were completely charred, making identification a daunting task. The surrounding area bore the brunt of the impact. Trees were incinerated, and the walls of the hostel were scorched in what has been described as a "forest of fire." The aircraft disintegrated upon impact, leaving behind mangled debris and widespread ruin.

A Miracle Amid the Ruins

Despite the devastation, one passenger has survived the crash. Identified as Ramesh Vishwakumar, he was seated in Seat 11A when the plane went down. He was rescued from the wreckage and is currently receiving medical treatment at BJ Medical College. His condition, though serious, is reported to be stable.

Official Confirmation

Ahmedabad Police Commissioner GS Malik confirmed the miraculous survival in a statement to news agency ANI. “Yes, one passenger has survived the crash and is under treatment,” he said during a phone interview. Malik also warned that the death toll could rise, as the crash occurred in a densely populated residential zone, increasing the likelihood of additional casualties on the ground.

Investigation and Rescue Operations Ongoing

Emergency responders continue to work through the wreckage, and forensic teams have begun the grim task of identifying victims. The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) and Air India are conducting a parallel investigation to determine the cause of the crash. This horrifying incident has not only shaken the aviation sector but also deeply impacted the nation, which now watches and waits for more clarity on what led to such a catastrophic event—and how one man managed to defy the odds.
