The film 'Sitare Zameen Par' starring Aamir Khan and Genelia D'Souza, directed by R. S. Prasanna, will soon be released digitally after its theatrical release on June 20. 'Sitare Zameen Par', a sequel to the 2007 hit 'Taare Zameen Par', will soon be available to audiences through a different medium. However, this film will not be released on any OTT platform but will be directly available on YouTube.

On Tuesday, Aamir held a press conference in Mumbai to announce that 'Sitare Zameen Par' will not be released on any OTT platform. He announced that the film will be available on YouTube in India for 100 rupees starting August 1. The film will also be available for viewing in the USA, Canada, UK, Australia, Germany, Indonesia, Philippines, Singapore, and Spain, with local pricing set for each market. Subtitles with dubs in some major languages will also be available.

Aamir said, "For the past 15 years, I have been struggling with the challenge of reaching audiences who do not have geographical access to theaters or who cannot come to theaters for various reasons. With our government introducing UPI and India becoming number one in electronic payments globally, and with the dramatic increase in internet usage in India and YouTube being available on most devices, we can finally reach a large audience in India and a significant part of the world."

He spoke about his dream of democratizing cinema and further said, "My dream is for cinema to reach everyone at reasonable and affordable prices. I wish for people to have the convenience of watching movies whenever they want, anywhere. If this idea succeeds, creative voices will be able to tell different stories by removing geographical and other barriers. It will be a great opportunity for young creative people entering the film industry. If this idea succeeds, I consider it beneficial for everyone."

'Taare Zameen Par' was produced by Aamir Khan under Aamir Khan Productions. According to Sacnilk, the film earned 2.67 billion rupees worldwide. Divya Nidhi Sharma wrote the film R. S. Prasanna. The story of a basketball coach guides a team of specially challenged players and introduces ten new faces. After its release, the film received mixed responses. Aamir is now producing the film 'Lahore 1947' with Sunny Deol and Preity Zinta, while he is producing the film 'Ek Din' with his son Junaid Khan and Sai Pallavi.
