IPL 2025: RCB Storms Into Final – Captain Rajat Patidar Praises Team and Fans After Dominant Win
The Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) secured a convincing victory against the Punjab Kings (PBKS) in Qualifier 1 at the Maharaja Yadvinder Singh International Cricket Stadium, earning their place in the IPL 2025 final. With an eight-wicket win, RCB continued their dominant run in the tournament and now stand just one step away from a historic title.
RCB won the toss and opted to bowl first, a decision that paid off handsomely. The Punjab Kings were bowled out for just 101 runs, thanks to a disciplined and lethal performance by the RCB bowlers. In response, RCB chased down the target with ease, scoring 106 runs for the loss of only 2 wickets. This marks the fourth time RCB has reached the IPL final — previously doing so in 2009, 2011, and 2016 — yet the team is still in search of their maiden IPL title. With the final scheduled for June 3, anticipation is at an all-time high among RCB fans and cricket enthusiasts alike. The question on everyone's mind: Will this be RCB’s year to finally lift the trophy?
Captain Rajat Patidar Hails Team’s Performance and Fan Support
Following the victory, RCB captain Rajat Patidar lauded the team’s performance and gave a heartfelt message to the fans. “I think the fast bowlers used the pitch really well. Suyash Sharma’s spell was a prime example — he maintained great pace, and his googlies are tough to read. As a captain, I have full clarity about his bowling, and that’s a big plus,” Patidar said. He also praised Phil Salt for his batting brilliance. “The way Phil Salt has batted for the team – I’ve become a big fan of him,” he added.
Speaking about the fan support, Patidar shared his gratitude:
“Not just at Chinnaswamy, but wherever we go, it feels like a home game because of our incredible fans. I am always grateful to the Bengaluru supporters. We love you all. Just one more match and then we’ll celebrate together. So keep cheering for us.”
He concluded with a note on the team’s preparation:
“We’ve practiced a lot throughout the tournament. So missing one practice day won’t affect us much.” As RCB eyes their first IPL title, the momentum and support seem firmly behind them. All eyes now turn to June 3 — the day RCB hopes to end their long wait for championship glory.
