Son of Sardaar 2: Ajay Devgn Returns with Action-Comedy Magic! Release Date Announced for Much-Awaited Sequel

Bollywood’s action icon Ajay Devgn is all set to make a grand comeback with the sequel to his much-loved film Son of Sardaar. Titled ‘Son of Sardaar 2’, the film’s release date has officially been announced — the movie will hit theatres on July 25, 2025.

Ajay Devgn shared the exciting update with fans on his Instagram account. In the newly released poster, he appears in his signature Sardaar avatar, wearing a traditional turban. He captioned the post:
"Sardaar is back! #SOS2 in your nearest theatre on July 25. #SardaarIsBack #SonOfSardaar2 @mrunalthakur @officialjiostudios @devgnfilms @tseries.official"

The upcoming film features Mrunal Thakur in the lead female role, while Sanjay Dutt will reprise his character of the ‘Don’ from the original. The character originally played by Ravi Kishan, which was initially set to be portrayed by Vijay Raaz, will now be played by Sanjay Mishra.

Directed by Vijay Kumar Arora, Son of Sardaar 2 is being jointly produced by Jio Studios, Devgn Films, and T-Series. The original Son of Sardaar, released in 2012, starred Ajay Devgn, Sanjay Dutt, and Sonakshi Sinha and gained popularity for its humorous tone and vibrant Punjabi backdrop.

However, this time the sequel is expected to face tough competition at the box office, as Sidharth Malhotra and Janhvi Kapoor’s 'Param Sundar' is also set to release on the same date.

With action, comedy, and nostalgia packed into one film, Son of Sardaar 2 is gearing up to recreate the magic on the big screen.
