Ajit Pawar Assures Continuation of ‘Ladki Bahin Yojana’

Announcement of one-third reservation for women empowerment

At the anniversary celebration of the Nationalist Congress Party (Ajit Pawar faction) held today in Balewadi, Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar addressed party workers with a spirited and reassuring speech. Among various political and developmental issues, he strongly affirmed the continuation of the much-discussed ‘Ladki Bahin Yojana’, bringing relief to women beneficiaries across Maharashtra.

Reassurance on ‘Ladki Bahin Yojana’

Dismissing speculation that the scheme may be discontinued, Ajit Pawar stated unequivocally:

“Some rumors are being spread that the 'Ladki Bahin' scheme will be shut down. But let me be clear — as long as we are in power, this scheme will continue for my sisters. At the end of every month, we ensure timely deposits directly into the bank accounts of all beneficiary sisters. This is my word.”

His assurance received loud applause from the crowd, particularly from the women attendees. Pawar’s statement came as a response to recent social media chatter questioning the future of the scheme.

Women’s Representation and Reservation

Emphasizing the need for increased political participation of women, Ajit Pawar said:

“Women must be elected in the 2029 Assembly and Lok Sabha elections. For this, one-third reservation will be implemented.”

This reiteration aligns with ongoing discussions about gender representation in Indian politics and highlights the party’s focus on empowering women.

Budget and Welfare for Marginalized Communities

Reviewing the state government's welfare policies, Pawar highlighted a 40% increase in budget allocation for Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, and Other Backward Classes. He expressed concern about false narratives being spread to tarnish the government's image and called for awareness among party workers.

Party Strategy and Vision for Maharashtra

Ajit Pawar also discussed strategies for upcoming local body elections and emphasized grassroots-level party building. He urged party workers to remain united and focused on Maharashtra’s growth in key sectors such as:

  • Agriculture

  • Arts and Culture

  • Sports

  • Industry

  • Education

  • Literature

A Personal Note to Party Workers

Ending on a warm and heartfelt note, Ajit Pawar appealed to the workers:

“Please reach home safely. Any changes in the party structure ahead of the elections will not be to hurt anyone, but to strengthen the party.”

His closing message highlighted unity, discipline, and collective progress as the NCP (Ajit Pawar group) gears up for the political challenges ahead.
