Ashadhi Ekadashi: Eknath Shinde Performs Rituals, Announces Temple Upgrades
On the sacred occasion of Ashadhi Ekadashi, Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde offered prayers at the Shri Vitthal-Rukmini Temple in Wadala, popularly known as Prati Pandharpur. Accompanied by his wife and senior Shiv Sena leaders, Shinde performed the Mahapuja and aarti of Lord Vitthal early this morning.
Following the ceremonial anointment of Lord Pandurang, Shinde highlighted the spiritual and historical significance of the Prati Pandharpur temple, which is believed to have been built by Saint Tukaram. Speaking to the media and devotees gathered at the temple, the Deputy Chief Minister announced that the state government will allocate funds for the beautification of the temple premises and for the improvement of facilities for visiting devotees.
"I have prayed at Vitthuraya's feet for the happiness and prosperity of the farmers, for a good monsoon, and for a bountiful harvest," said Shinde. He also added that he prayed for the well-being of the Warkaris, his "beloved sisters," and the overall happiness of the people of Maharashtra.
The temple witnessed a large number of devotees who came to celebrate the auspicious day with devotion and enthusiasm, as the spirit of Ashadhi Ekadashi resonated across the state.
