Bacchu Kadu Announce Indefinite Protest In Amravati

Firebrand leader of the Prahar Janshakti Party, Bacchu Kadu, began an indefinite protest in Mozari, Amravati on Saturday, declaring a food boycott to press for various long-standing demands concerning farmers and the disabled.

Prior to the protest, a massive bike rally was organized from Amravati to Mozari, symbolizing the strong mobilization of party workers and supporters. Kadu, who led the rally, emphasized that the movement was not new but a continuation of a series of ignored protests.

“We protested in Raigad. We organized a blood donation protest. Now, we are on a hunger strike. The government must fulfill its promises,” Kadu said. “Loan waivers, a 20 percent MSP subsidy, ₹6,000 honorarium for the disabled, removal of farming responsibilities from MR regions, and dedicated policies for shepherds, dairy farmers, and fishermen—these are our just demands.”

Despite a previous meeting with the Chief Minister, Kadu expressed disappointment over the lack of concrete action.

“This is our fourth protest. The Chief Minister agreed to our demands in principle but failed to follow through. We are now holding this fast as our final form of protest,” he asserted.

Demonstrating his unyielding resolve, Kadu made a bold statement: “Even if the funeral procession leaves the protest site, that would be acceptable. But we will not stop this protest until our demands are met.”

The protest, centered in the village of spiritual leader Sant Tukdoji Maharaj, Mozari, is expected to draw attention from across the state as tensions rise over the unfulfilled assurances made by the government.
