CM Fadnavis Aims for International Standards at Nashik Kumbh Mela 2027
With preparations underway for the upcoming Kumbh Mela in Nashik, Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis chaired a high-level meeting at Hyderabad House in Nagpur to ensure the mega event is organized at international standards. The meeting was also attended by Union Minister Nitin Gadkari, along with several senior ministers and officials from the state.
The meeting focused on detailed planning and coordination between the state and central governments to make the Nashik Kumbh Mela a global spiritual and cultural event. Comprehensive discussions were held on key aspects such as:
Road development and infrastructure
Traffic and crowd management
Provision of basic amenities for devotees
Security arrangements
Environmental protection and sustainability
Formation of Dedicated Planning Committee
One of the most significant outcomes of the meeting was the decision to form a separate committee dedicated to Kumbh Mela planning, which will be responsible for ensuring smooth execution of all related activities. The formation process of this committee will commence soon.
Prominent attendees included Maharashtra Ministers Shivendrasinh Raje Bhosale and Girish Mahajan, MP Smita Wagh, MLAs Devyani Farande and Mangesh Chavan, along with senior bureaucrats from various departments.
Chief Minister Fadnavis emphasized the need for world-class facilities and seamless management, stating that the Kumbh Mela is not just a religious gathering but an opportunity to showcase Maharashtra’s rich cultural and spiritual heritage to the world.
