Due to the heavy rain in Delhi and surrounding areas for the past two days, daily life has been disrupted. The Yamuna River has crossed the danger level, creating a flood-like situation in low-lying areas. It is reported that the water level of the river has reached 207 meters. Residents of the Yamuna Bazaar area are being moved to safe locations, and NDRF teams are deployed for aid and rescue operations. In some areas, water has accumulated up to five to six feet, causing significant difficulties for the residents.

The Indian Meteorological Department has forecast heavy rain in the coming days in Delhi, Haryana, Chandigarh, and western Uttar Pradesh. The impact of the rain is also expected to be severe in Noida and Ghaziabad. An orange alert has been issued for Jammu and Kashmir and Uttarakhand, and a warning of heavy rain has also been issued for Himachal Pradesh and Punjab.

For safety reasons, the decision has been made to keep schools closed in many states. Schools and colleges are closed today in Noida, Ghaziabad, Shimla, Jammu and Kashmir, and Chandigarh. Due to the heavy rain, the transportation system has come to a standstill, and ordinary citizens are facing difficulties in getting to work.

Meanwhile, incidents of landslides due to rain have occurred in Himachal Pradesh. It is reported that five people have died in landslides in Kullu, Sundernagar, and Chidgaon. The Shimla-Kalka railway line has been closed until September 5 due to a major landslide. Many schools and colleges in the state have been closed until the weather improves.

Considering this situation, the local administration has urged citizens to remain alert. Residents of riverbank areas have been instructed to move to safe locations immediately, and relief and rescue operations are underway at a war footing.
