Devendra Fadnavis Misused The Systems; Says Sanjay Raut

Shiv Sena (UBT) MP Sanjay Raut launched a scathing attack on the BJP-led central government and the Mahayuti alliance in Maharashtra, accusing top leaders of creating a "tyrannical state system" by misusing government institutions to suppress opposition.

In a strongly worded letter addressed to Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, Raut urged him to read the book Narakatala Swarg ("Heaven in Hell"), asserting that the book reflects the grim political reality in the state. He also suggested that Chief Minister Eknath Shinde should read it.

Raut named Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Devendra Fadnavis, and Eknath Shinde as the architects of a repressive regime. "When a tyrannical system cannot be overthrown democratically, those in power resort to eliminating opponents by misusing institutions like the ED, CBI, Income Tax Department, and the police," Raut said.

He added, “Some people flee in fear, but others resist. Narakatala Swarg was written for that resistance. Fadnavis should read this book, as he has misused institutions and is a mastermind of this oppressive system.”

The Rajya Sabha MP also criticized the functioning of the State Women’s Commission, particularly its political appointments. “The chairperson of the Women’s Commission should be an apolitical and independent individual. Appointing people for political convenience deprives women of justice,” he said.

Raut emphasized that the Women’s Commission holds a constitutional role and should not be treated like a development board. “At both the Center and the state level, only political appointees are occupying these key positions, which undermines the Commission’s credibility and purpose,” he added.

Raut’s remarks come amid ongoing political tensions in Maharashtra, with opposition parties accusing the ruling alliance of using state machinery for political vendetta.
