Devendra Fadnavis Unveils 'Maharashtra Dharma' Podcast Amid Ashadhi Wari Celebrations

In a spiritually charged atmosphere on the auspicious occasion of Ashadhi Wari, Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis announced the launch of his new podcast series, ‘Maharashtra Dharma’, from the sacred land of Pandharpur.

The podcast, aimed at highlighting the rich cultural heritage, traditions, and historical legacy of Maharashtra, will premiere across all of Fadnavis’s official social media platforms on July 6, 2025, at 11:00 AM.

Participating in the vibrant Ashadhi celebrations, Fadnavis joined thousands of Warkaris in chanting Harinam, accompanied by his wife Amruta Fadnavis. The couple actively took part in traditional festivities, including playing the Tal-Mridunga and Fugadi, creating an atmosphere of deep devotion and cultural pride.

Earlier in the day, the Chief Minister performed the traditional puja at the feet of Lord Vitthal and Goddess Rukmini and visited the banks of the sacred Chandrabhaga River along with the massive gathering of devotees.

It was in this devotional setting that Fadnavis made his announcement, stating, “I am making a new beginning...” — a reference to his upcoming podcast. The teaser, shared via social media, features a powerful message:

“Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj fought for an ideal, not for power. This Wari is not just a religious event, but a walking, living culture — a tradition that upholds Maharashtra’s self-respect.”

Fadnavis also emphasized in the trailer that despite countless foreign invasions, the tradition of the Wari has endured unbroken. Through ‘Maharashtra Dharma’, the Chief Minister aims to connect the new generation with Maharashtra’s timeless cultural values and historical wisdom.

The podcast series is expected to serve as a unique medium for reflecting on the essence of Maharashtra’s identity — blending faith, history, and cultural pride into a compelling narrative.
