Eknath Khadse: Eknath Khadse's Allegation; Family Defamed Under the Name of Rave Party, Question Mark on Police Action
After the rave party incident in Kharadi, Pune, there has been a major stir in the state's politics, with senior leader and former minister Eknath Khadse of the Nationalist Congress Party (Sharadchandra Pawar group) making serious allegations against the Pune police regarding this matter. Claiming that “this is merely an action motivated by political vendetta,” Khadse held a press conference. Notably, six people, including Khadse's son-in-law, have been arrested, and he raised several serious questions about this action.
Eknath Khadse said, “At the place where this action took place, there were only five to seven people in a house. There was no music, no dance, no commotion. Saying there was a rave party at such a place is ridiculous. The police should clarify the exact definition of a rave party."
Khadsay also raised several questions regarding the police action. “How does the video footage from this party reach the media directly? Who gave the police the authority to make this information public?” he asked. Khadsay stated, “During the operation, the faces of the male and female accused were broadcast, which is against the rules. Was the police's intention only to defame, this question arises.”
Khadsay also revealed the presence of Pune police at the press conference this time. “While I was holding the press conference, eight to ten police officers in civilian dress were outside the house and came directly inside and sat down. Who gave the police the authority to enter a private space? Surveillance is being kept on me and my family,” he made a serious allegation.
“Why is there an attempt to silence me? What fear drives the government to send so many police? What exactly is happening in the state?” he questioned. Khadse objected when Dr. Pranjal Khewalkar's name emerged as the main accused in the case. “No narcotics were found with Khewalkar. Then why was he made the primary accused? Narcotics were found in a girl's purse, so why isn't she the primary accused?”
Along with this, they also raised questions about the medical examination. “The report on alcohol consumption comes in a few hours, but why does it take so long for the drug test report to come? Considering the history of sample changes at Sassoon Hospital, there is a suspicion that there might be alterations in this report,” said Khadse. This entire incident has not only raised questions about police action but also about the role of the administration and government, and everyone is keenly awaiting the conclusions of the further investigation.
