Today is the 79th Independence Day of India. Prime Minister Narendra Modi hoisted the tricolor at the Red Fort in Delhi and addressed the nation. This year's Independence Day theme is 'New India', aimed at making India a prosperous, secure, and self-reliant nation by 2047. More than 5000 special guests from across the country were invited for Independence Day. This includes athletes from the Special Olympics 2025, farmers, young writers, sanitation workers, and 85 village heads. For the first time, Agniveers participated in the band playing the national anthem, and the success of 'Operation Sindoor' was also celebrated in the ceremony.

After hoisting the tricolor at the Red Fort, a 21-gun salute was given. Before the flag hoisting ceremony, Prime Minister Modi paid tribute to Mahatma Gandhi at Rajghat. Messages were delivered in this program to remind of the sacrifices of the country's freedom fighters and to highlight the contributions made by citizens for the country's progress.

This festival has elevated the spirit of Independence Day across the entire country, with cultural programs, parades, and special ceremonies organized for citizens at various places. The aim of these ceremonies is to inspire the youth, farmers, and citizens of the country.
