Four Key Resolutions Passed In Maharashtra Cabinet Decision

Several significant decisions were taken at the state cabinet meeting held today at the Sahyadri Guest House under the chairmanship of Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis. The meeting, attended by key cabinet members, resulted in four major resolutions, covering the Tribal Development, Revenue, and Public Works departments.

One of the most notable developments was the decision to establish a Maharashtra State Scheduled Tribes Commission, modeled after the Central Government’s commission. This move marks a major step toward strengthening tribal welfare mechanisms in the state.

Key Decisions Taken in the Cabinet Meeting:

  1. Establishment of Maharashtra State Scheduled Tribes Commission
Under the Tribal Development Department, the cabinet approved the creation of the commission along with sanctioned posts, infrastructure, and supporting expenditures. Additionally, the existing Maharashtra State Scheduled Castes Commission will now function independently.

  2. Approval for Land Transfer in Dharavi Redevelopment Project
The cabinet sanctioned amendments to the terms and conditions of the agreement related to the transfer of 8.5 hectares of land in Kurla, originally under the Dairy Development Department, for the Dharavi Redevelopment Project. This move falls under the Revenue Department and is expected to accelerate progress on one of Mumbai’s most ambitious urban renewal projects.

  3. Land Allocation for Insurance Workers’ Hospitals
The cabinet approved the allocation of 6 hectares of barren land in Mauje Karodi, located in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar district, for the construction of a 200-bed hospital for insurance workers, under the State Workers Insurance Corporation.
Additionally, in-principle approval was given to provide land for hospitals at various locations including Bibwewadi (Pune), Ahilyanagar, Sangli, Amravati, Ballarpur (Chandrapur), Sinnar (Nashik), Baramati, Satara, and Panvel.

  4. Toll Concession Compensation for MSRDC
The Public Works Department has approved compensation to the Maharashtra State Road Development Corporation (MSRDC) for toll concessions provided at five toll booths at the Mumbai entry points. The concession was aimed at easing traffic movement and commuter burden.

These decisions reflect the state government’s ongoing focus on infrastructure development, urban renewal, tribal welfare, and public healthcare. The next cabinet meeting is expected to review progress on these initiatives and consider further policy actions.
