Garbage Dumped in Municipal Office as Baramati Faces Waste Collection Woes
In a dramatic act of protest, Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) State Secretary Kaluram Chaudhary dumped a bag of garbage inside the Baramati Municipal Council office, expressing frustration over the civic body's failure to collect waste for several days despite repeated complaints.
According to locals, no garbage truck had arrived in the area for several days, prompting mounting anger among residents. Fed up with the inaction, Chaudhary took matters into his own hands. He personally collected the uncollected garbage and marched into the Citizens' Facility Center department of the Municipal Council, where he emptied a container full of trash onto the office floor.
Expressing his outrage, Chaudhary said, "Despite filing multiple complaints, no one from the council has come to collect the garbage. We pay lakhs of rupees in taxes, yet we don’t receive even basic civic amenities." He further warned that more garbage will be dumped inside the council premises if the issue is not resolved promptly.
The incident, which was caught on video and widely shared on social media, has sparked discussions on civic accountability and the lack of basic sanitation services in Baramati.
Municipal officials have not yet issued an official response, but the protest has drawn public attention to the deteriorating waste management services in the city. Residents have demanded immediate action from the authorities to restore regular garbage collection and improve civic infrastructure.
