"Those who do not respect Hindutva, how will they respect Marathi people?" he questioned on a banner that was in discussion in Mumbai. Nandgaonkar made it clear that there is no need to explain the importance of Hindutva to the Thackeray family. He mentioned the contribution of Balasaheb Thackeray to Hindutva, who was suspended for six years while working on Hindutva and proved that elections can be fought on Hindutva. He also stated that Balasaheb Thackeray had taken a clear and firm stand on the issue of demolishing mosques.

Regarding the Mumbai Municipal Corporation elections, the Shinde group has claimed 135 out of 227 seats. Nandgaonkar did not give a direct answer on whether there will be an alliance between Shiv Sena and MNS for the elections. However, he hinted that the equation will be resolved. While there is speculation that Aditya Thackeray will lead the Mumbai Municipal Corporation, when asked about Amit Thackeray's role from MNS, Nandgaonkar clarified that Raj Thackeray is the supreme leader of the party and makes all decisions.
