Husband Murders Wife Over Mobile Phone Dispute In Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar District
The deceased has been identified as Pinkabai Sanjay Devale (age 27). A case of murder has been registered against her husband, Sanjay Mahikal Devale, a resident of Borgaon, Taluka Padhana, District Khandwa, Madhya Pradesh. The couple had been working as agricultural labourers (salgadis) on the farm of retired teacher Avachitrao Jadhav in Mohandri for the past year.
According to preliminary information, the incident occurred on Tuesday night in a shed located in group number 221 in the Biroba Valley. The couple reportedly had an argument over a new mobile phone. Sanjay questioned his wife, asking, "Who gave you this phone?" and "Whose is it?" The dispute escalated, and in a fit of rage, Sanjay allegedly struck Pinkabai on the head with a stick. He then left her and went to sleep in another shed.
The next morning, local farmer Balu Jadhav noticed Pinkabai lying unconscious in a critical condition. He immediately informed the landowner, Avachitrao Jadhav, who arranged for her to be rushed to the rural hospital in Pishore. However, Dr. Amol Giri pronounced her dead on arrival.
Police Inspector Shivaji Nagve, along with forensic experts Sitakant Palaskar and Sandeep Jonwal, inspected the scene and conducted the panchnama. Additional Superintendent of Police Annapurna Singh and Sub-Divisional Police Officer Vijay Thakurwad also visited the site to oversee the investigation.
Dr. Giri’s preliminary report suggests that the victim suffered a severe head injury and was also strangled. The accused, Sanjay Devale, has been taken into custody, and further investigation is being led by Police Sub-Inspector Vishwajit Fartade.
This harrowing incident has raised concerns about rising domestic violence cases in rural areas and has left the local community in mourning.
