India-Pakistan Conflict : '35 to 40 Pakistani Soldiers Killed,' Confirms DGMO Lt Gen Rajiv Ghai

In a joint press conference held by the chiefs of the Indian Army, Navy, and Air Force, detailed information was shared about Operation Sindoor — India’s retaliatory military action following recent terror attacks. The press briefing, held on Sunday, outlined the scale and success of the coordinated strikes.

Director General of Military Operations (DGMO), Lieutenant General Rajiv Ghai, revealed that 35 to 40 Pakistani Army soldiers were killed during cross-border engagements along the Line of Control. “The Indian Army achieved complete tactical surprise and inflicted heavy casualties,” he said.

Lt Gen Ghai further stated that Indian forces successfully targeted nine terrorist camps, identified on May 7, resulting in the elimination of over 100 terrorists. These camps were part of a broader terror infrastructure operating from Pakistan-occupied Jammu & Kashmir (PoJK) and parts of Punjab province in Pakistan.

Air Marshal A.K. Bharti, representing the Indian Air Force, detailed the aerial component of the operation. “We launched precision strikes on key Pakistani military assets, including air bases, command centers, and air defense systems along the western front,” he said. “Our targets included strategic bases such as Chaklala and Rafiqui in Islamabad.”

The armed forces emphasized that the operation was carefully executed with specific targets to avoid civilian casualties, while delivering a clear message about India’s zero-tolerance policy toward terrorism.

The military leadership reiterated that India remains fully prepared to defend its sovereignty and respond decisively to any acts of aggression.
