Today, on July 20, the third important match of the World Championship of Legends 2025 between India and Pakistan was scheduled to take place. However, this much-discussed match has finally been canceled. The organizers made this decision because many former players of the Indian team refused to take the field against Pakistan.

Renowned former cricketers like Harbhajan Singh, Suresh Raina, Irfan Pathan, and Yusuf Pathan took a direct boycott stance. Indian players refused to play against Pakistan in protest of the terrorist attack that took place in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, in April. This attack claimed the lives of 26 innocent Indian tourists. Against this backdrop, the players of the Indian team showed their patriotism by making this tough decision.

The Indian team is led by Yuvraj Singh, accompanied by stalwarts like Shikhar Dhawan, Robin Uthappa, Ambati Rayudu, Yusuf Pathan, Irfan Pathan, and Suresh Raina. On the other hand, the leadership of the Pakistan team has been given to Shahid Afridi, although Mohammad Hafeez played the role of captain in the first match.

India-Pakistan cricket matches are always a topic of great discussion, but against the backdrop of security in the country, especially after the Pahalgam incident, the organization of this match was questioned. After the attack in April, India carried out major operations in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir under 'Operation Sindoor'. Tensions arose on the border between India and Pakistan from May 7 to 10. Subsequently, a temporary peace agreement was reached between the two countries on May 10.

These events have angered the public in India, and against this backdrop, the proposal to play the India-Pakistan match was rejected by the people. Finally, due to the boycott by Indian players, the organizers decided to cancel the match.
