India's vice-captain Rishabh Pant has finally broken his silence on his injury. After exiting the remaining matches of the Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy, he stated, "I will prepare again once the fracture heals." On the first day of the Manchester Test, while reverse sweeping Chris Woakes' delivery, the ball hit his leg causing a fracture. At that time, he was playing at 37 runs.

Due to pain, he was immediately taken off the field. The scan revealed a fracture, and he was advised to rest for six weeks. However, the next day he went out to bat again and scored a half-century. He was ready to play on the final day as well, but Washington Sundar and Ravindra Jadeja saved the match.

Rishabh Pant wrote on X, "The love and wishes I receive give me a lot of strength. I am being patient and strictly following my routine to return with full strength. Playing for the country is the biggest dream of my life. I will return soon."

The BCCI confirmed Pant's injury in an official statement on Sunday, stating that he will not play in the final Test at the Oval starting from July 31. The medical team will monitor his condition.

Narayan Jagadeesan has been selected in place of Pant. In this series, Pant scored 479 runs in seven innings, including two centuries and a half-century. At Lord's, he played a gritty innings of 74 runs while enduring a blow to his hand. His resilience has proven invaluable for the team.
