India's first hydrogen-powered train is now ready for service. Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw shared a video on the social media platform 'X' on Tuesday, showing the first glimpse to the citizens.

With hydrogen technology, there will be an opportunity for pollution-free and environmentally friendly travel, and India will become the fifth country in the world in this field. After Germany, France, Sweden, and China, India's name will be added to the list of countries operating hydrogen trains.

The first hydrogen-powered railway service is set to start on the Jind-Sonipat route in Haryana, and this new technology will reduce fuel costs and bring carbon emissions to zero. This project is considered an important milestone in the 'Green India' initiative. According to the Ministry of Railways, testing for this service will begin soon, after which the railway will be opened for passenger transport.
