Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sanchez Wedding ; A Grand Affair in Venice
Amazon founder and billionaire Jeff Bezos, 61, is all set to tie the knot with his longtime partner, journalist Lauren Sanchez, 55, in a lavish wedding ceremony in Venice, Italy, on June 27. This marks the second marriage for both Bezos and Sanchez, who have been publicly together since 2019.
The couple, both parents from previous relationships, have chosen Venice — known for its canals, history, and romantic charm — as the venue for their high-profile wedding. However, their choice has stirred some controversy among local residents, who are increasingly frustrated by the transformation of the serene city into a playground for the ultra-wealthy.
According to reports, around 200 to 250 elite guests are expected to attend the wedding. The guest list reads like a who’s who of global fame and power — including tech moguls like Mark Zuckerberg and Bill Gates, political figures such as Ivanka Trump, and Hollywood celebrities like Leonardo DiCaprio, Katy Perry, Kim Kardashian, and Diane von Fürstenberg.
The venue for the ceremony is the Arsenale di Venezia, a sprawling 14th-century naval complex steeped in history. Surrounded by water, the venue is accessible only by boat, adding to the exclusivity and grandeur of the event.
To accommodate the high-profile attendees, the couple has reportedly arranged for 90 private jets, 30 water taxis, and hundreds of luxury vehicles. Additionally, three mega yachts are stationed nearby to host guests in style.
Despite the glamour, not everyone is thrilled. Local Venetians have voiced their discontent, arguing that such extravagant events are turning the city’s heritage sites into private backdrops for the global elite, compromising the city’s cultural and public character.
Still, the wedding is poised to be one of the most talked-about celebrity events of the year — a romantic chapter in the lives of two global figures, set against the timeless backdrop of Venice.
