Ashok Chavan Criticizes Local Leadership at Lokshahi Marathwada Sanwad 2025
A program called Lokshahi Marathwada Sanwad 2025, a glorious dialogue between Lokshahi Marathwada and Marathwada, was organized by the Marathi news channel 'Lokshahi Marathwada' in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar. In this program, veterans from the land of Marathwada were felicitated. Also, what is the vision of political leaders for the future of Marathwada? We learned what the roadmap for the development of Marathwada is.
In this program, a dialogue was held with Ashok Chavan. During this time, he commented on the water issue in Marathwada, the Beed issue and also on the political situation. Ashok Chavan said, "Many governments have come to Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, many ministers have become ministers. If a dam like Jayakwadi had not been built at that time, we would not have had water. I remember how much opposition there was to the Jayakwadi Dam at that time. I have seen all this history closely. Because of Jayakwadi, our four districts get water. Drinking water and water for agriculture. There is no shortage of water. The distribution system that was supposed to be in Sambhajinagar has been dragging on for years. It is the failure of the local leadership. I do not blame anyone personally. The way the Chief Minister has focused on this, the water issue will be resolved. There is no shortage of water. Water is available, but since this city does not have a water distribution system, more than ten years have passed even though it has been approved. But justice is not being done to this issue because the work is not being completed, this issue has become like the Mumbai-Goa issue.
There is scope for employment generation in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar. Now we see the future of Sambhajinagar, there is no doubt that Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar will move forward at a faster pace than before. If the infrastructure is provided well, then infrastructure helps a lot in bringing in industry. The infrastructure that is necessary for the growth of industry is now available in large numbers. I will not give 100 percent marks but I will definitely give 50-60 percent marks. All facilities should be provided. If the local leadership takes up this issue, there is no disagreement. There is a need to come together, there is a need to understand. As they say, "Whoever has a stick, his horse follows him," the person who goes to the ministry, gets the work done, and follows up will get on track. We are in the ruling party, we keep it up, if there are people to criticize us where we fall short, they should push from there, we will push from here. If both of them do it together, it will automatically get on track. There is leadership in Marathwada. What was not there in Marathwada in the last few years is now visible. Marathwada is not behind. The cities that are close to Mumbai have a huge advantage over Mumbai. We are 611 kilometers away.
Speaking on Beed, he said that the things that have come to light in the last six months have brought Beed into disrepute. Now there will be an inquiry and action will be taken. The habit of giving shelter to criminals, regardless of the political party, should stop. Goons should not get shelter from the king.
Along with this, he further said that today's political situation has become like an IPL match. Whoever is comfortable with it, wherever he is. The political situation is changing a lot. I have worked in the Congress for many years. When I joined the BJP, I can see that good work is going on. Every department is working hard. After joining this party, some people got some opportunities, they have given me to work in the Rajya Sabha, whether they will give me any opportunity in the future or not is their question. Ashok Chavan said.
